Recently had some building work carried out at home so we now have a snug type area with a spare TV

Can anyone recommend one of those HDMI stick jobbies with retro games pre-loaded?

There seems to be various options on Amazon but only with average reviews

Depends on how much effort you want to put in, versa what you get out.

A cheap PC with Batocera will be much better and easier to use once set up and built etc.

A Wii is cheap and very easy to softmod and opens up Wii and Gamecube and the Wii emulates everything before it very well.

If you want simple one system phone, buy the Nintendo\Sega|Atari mini's etc they're plug and play.

Anbernic handheld consoles are excellent and have HDMI out too, but limited two player games.

I'd search facebook for a softmodded Wii and go that route if it were my £50

Often the Amazon ones have knocked off clone games and some can't save games or load others etc, which for me is a killer.

My best mate got a Retropie recently, it's been an absolute joy playing old Amiga games again. He paid a nerd to config it for him!

For ease of use and the price you can't really beat one of these:

This with bells and whistles.
Does it work on a pi 5 yet?

(Note - I claim to be a nerd, and couldn’t make the amiga work)
