There's extensive roadworks in the centre of Le Mans which will still be in place for the drivers parade.
The new route is as shown on the map attached

It’s going to get pretty busy with it being so short, and with no Place de la République on the route where are all the posh people going to sit and watch from their stands?

So let me get this right. We now have record attendance levels at Le mans and so they make the already crowded Driver's Parade route shorter so even more crowded. FFS.

OK, road works have to happen but is it really too much for the city to stagger them/work them around/re-route an equivalent length parade, the event that probably has the single biggest boost to businesses in the centre of Le Mans of the whole year?!?!

Rue Wilber Wright , from the river up to the cathedral square is out of action. I believe that the works have uncovered more problems than originally planned which has extended the time scale.
This will effect other events run around the town, especially Bidon 5 litres a classic car and motorcycle event that uses the same route as the drivers parade. Cars drive around with 5 litres of fuel, bikes with 2 litres to see who goes furthest within class.

That’s made my mind up. Was in two minds about doing parade or cycle round the track. Don’t think I’m going to bother with the rammed journey into town , fight for a viewing point and all the hassle that does with the parade.

Will prob go in to LM on Thursday for a “light lunch” of three courses plus wine instead , then cycle the track on Friday

That's basically what the parade is for us - head in to town for a nice lunch, stand vaguely near the parade drinking beer/shooting the breeze, followed by a nice dinner. Very little parade watching actually ever happenssmile
