Aston Martin DB9 CD changer
Discussion
Hello, I have a DB9 volante as my toy at the moment. and love it to bits. I have a problem i hope someone out there can help me with. I am a chartered engineer, so I will have a go at fixing most things, cars, washing machines,TV's anything really , I fix ships for a living.
The CD changer on my 2008, car does not work althoug the radio and other imputs all work perfectly. I think i have ejected all the 6 cd's from the unit but when i switch on the unit, it initially clicks and rumbles as if it is searching for a CD, it stops after about 90 seconds so i can then change to another input and listen to some music on a USB.
There used to be a company that supplied and mounted a replacement changer to your cd unit if you sent your old one to them, it was about £250 but they advised me that they cant now get the parts so dont do it any longer.Any advice on similar services available.
Looking on line ebay etc i see that Volvo units will fit but may need the ECU resetting ? Any info of part numbers etc? and how to reset the ECU or someone who will do it for me? I am able to take out and refit a replacement unit but dont have the equipmewnt to reset the ECU or even find it. I may find a jammed CD or the player missaligned i guess it is a common problem so hope for an easy fix, any advice would be appreciated.
kind regards
