Trying to find a rear venting simple canopy Cooker Hood
Discussion
As per title, Mother-in-laws cooker hood has stopped working, simple old style 60cm wide under top unit 15ch deep hood that vented straight out of the back.

Couldn't find any sililar units available now, so bought a cheap one from Howdens, on looking at it it has two removable panels for venting, a round one on the top and a recangular one on the back. The round one has a fitting suplied but the rear one does not. I canot find any way of geting a fitting for the back (145x65mm) to allow it to go through the hole already in the wall as per the old unit.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Howdens say they don't do a vent for the rear and there's nothing that size online?
Here's a picture of the new unit to show the layout.

I would Simpo but I can only find a couple of other ones that vent straight out to the rear and they have panels that are equally non-compatable with normal vents and do not come with adators as far as I can see?
I may end up blocking the currect hole and re-drilling higher for top venting.

Can you not fix the original one?I may end up blocking the currect hole and re-drilling higher for top venting.
That's certainly what I'd be looking to do............
We have a rear vent tumble drier from the 1980's I've had to fix a few things over the years, a couple of belts, heater pack, timer unit - even had the motor rewound - all because I core drilled a 110mm hole thro the external wall at exactly the right height and placement so I could have it stood on the work top and duct the exhaust air outside....... (Rather than hanging a hose out the window)
If it ever becomes impossible to repair I'll get a condensing one and brick the hole up!!!
Assuming it's this: https://www.howdens.com/kitchens/appliances/cookin...
The manual doesn't state to vent out the rear at all, so assume airflow wouldn't be setup like that at all anyway.
I assume you also can't have it lower (so have a 90degree bend) and drop the extractor 100mm? Otherwise you could just get a cover for the elbow.

Found this that is basically the same but does say rear vent: https://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/eiqtmvisorste...
Whats to stop you just having a square peg for a round hole, so to speak... assuming the extractor covers the whole hole. Just a bit of silly-cones to stop it bleeding out the square edges
