Due to getting laid off i have some spare time so I decided to borrow my parents van and head up into Scotland.
The Mrs insisted I took the niece as its half term I was expecting worse weather than we had and was surprised at the amount of campervans we saw!!

What i did notice this time was the amount of litter around the place which was disappointing as I always commented on how clean the place was when I've been previously.

The van doesn't get used much and had 7k miles on it when we set off its now parked back up with just over 8.5k miles on it.
Due to not getting used much I had to fill the gas and find a new leisure battery as it gave up after the first night!!!
Everywhere was shut but I expected that to be honest.

Nice!

Thanks for sharing. I actually love heading to Scotland this time of year. If you luck out with a blue sky day, no matter how cold it is, it can feel glorious. Last trip up I had (properly) was back in Jan 23 when I spent a week touring Skye with a few obligatory nights in Glencoe and over to Applecross.

Good luck with the job hunting but you did right using the time you had! smile

Scotland off-season is still fabulous. A good jacket, a hat and an awareness that while some of the tourist industry shuts up for the winter, nature still stuns....

Our Van is on the road all year, we have camped down to about -7, use all-season tyres, and visit some of the less reached parts of Scotland in summer and busier places in winter...

Not a bad route at all.

Best of luck with the job hunt.
