Hi,

Its been a while since we last went to Le Mans (2016 or 2017 I think) but have been several times before then and we have always been able to walk up to a ticket booth on the Saturday and buy our tickets. Has all that gone now and its advance ticket sales only and its all pretty much sold out?

We used to see crowds of around 0.25+m and I can't quite believe there would be that number of advance ticket sales and nothing available on the weekend itself or am I wrong?

Thanks
Nick

You won’t be able to buy a ticket on the gate, it’s been like that for a couple of years now.

As above, buy before you arrive. The crowd numbers have gone up, I think there was something like 400k for the Centenary in 2023, and not too many less than that last year. Gone are the days of just walking in and paying on the door. The stands and concrete area on the pit straight are busy now even at 4am, which is a significant departure even from as recently as 2022 when i went for the first time. Back then, almost everyone left at about 1am, but I'd say anything upto 75% of those present at 10pm now camp out all night and see it through. At least that's how it feels to me, not sure about elsewhere on the circuit.

Definitely busier at night.

When I did stay for the night, I used to enjoy (yes, sad I know), finding the RLM pit lane guy and then track him up and down from opposite and follow what he was looking at and commenting on. Just made the coverage a bit more interesting. I’ll get my coat!

The terraces were practically empty, so very easy and nice after a day of crowds having easy movement.

The flow around the circuit is better (finally improved pedestrian capacity of main tunnel by main entrance), but it is still struggling with the sheer number of people at a few of the pinch points.

I did like the fact there was a ‘hit squad’ working the grandstands last year, targeting the piss takers who’d sneak in and then decide to stand at the front or stairs blocking views. No messing from the ACO guy directing his band of security. Okay when stands are half full and you get a seat for bit (ready to move if seat holders return), but not okay when at capacity and spoiling it for those who have paid.

They tried, but i had my race start and end ruined by stair hoggers last year in T16. The worst of it was those who ruined it were either people from further back in the stand, or people who had staff or guest lanyards. When security finally came, they were about to leave anyway or just sat down on the steps to the side of the stairs and went unnoticed and just stood back at the stairs when security left.

I'm giving it this year to redeem itself, if it's as bad as 2024, I won't be going in 2026.

Sadly for our group of 16 or so this is exactly how we feel

Thanks for the replies. I still can't quite believe that they have managed to sell out pretty much the whole event (according to the LM website) if the numbers are around 350-400k unless anyone knows anything about more tickets being made available closer to the race date?

Looks like 2026 might my first chance to return!

Cheers
Nick

I’d look at the official resale site as well this forum sales section.

Tickets, particularly general entry will come up amongst parking, grandstand and camping.

If no camping, don’t disregard the option of staying 20-30mins from the circuit. Sensible prices and comfy options.

If there’s a will, there’s a way.

I suggest the OP speaks with Brian at 1st Tickets....they’re ACO approved agents & they may have a cancellation on the final payments due in late March
