First day just sit around with your first coffee of the day and spend a little time watching everyone else rushing off to work, then when ever any one asks what your going to do all day say "What ever I want to do". Take your time, relax and enjoy. It takes some getting used to especially on pay day, but after a few weeks you will wonder where you found the time for work.

Don't do this. A very quick way to get ignored/excluded.

Haha had a look at that thread but don’t have an Aston a million quid pension or a home in the South of France so may not be welcome.

I don't want to
I don't have to
You can't make me
I'm retired.

Or

I tried to retire
Now I work for my wife.

Two T shirt options you can get.
Guess which one I ended with.
(She's still got a couple of years to go.)

Not everyone on there has those things! I’m in mid west France! biggrin

Keep busy and keep moving is all the advice you need.

Congratulations and enjoy your retirement.

It's a fantastic feeling.
I stopped working January 2024.
Now my young son and I have holibobs almost ever month.

Wife is the full time wage earner.

It's just so relaxing,

I assume that on Monday morning will be making use of your pensioners bus-pass to go to your local Wetherspoons for breakfast...

Lucky you OP. I’m 60 next year but have no plans yet. Thing is, being a school caretaker it’s the easiest job in the world so do I continue getting well paid (relatively) enjoying an easy life or all of a sudden have a thousand jobs that need doing yesterday while running round like a blue arsed fly for my wife all day long for free? Think I’ll stay at work for a few years yet…laugh

I retired before my wife..

She soon found things to keep me occupied.

Best thing that I did was to buy a small apartment on the Algarve, I'd drive out and collect her from Faro airport, I'd stop 4/6 weeks but she was only allowed two weeks, it was utter bliss!
Long light lunches at a pavement cafe with a glass or three of wine watching the world go by, steak for supper.....I'm sure you get the idea!

Retired 5 years ago from a pretty physical job.

Boy it doesn’t take long for your body to enter retirement mode as well. I’ve started going to the gym to try and stave off total atrophy and after only a few months definitely noticing the improvement.

57 and been made an offer I can’t refuse to leave work at the end of April. Half looking forward to it although I will need to pick up a part time job to supplement the pension.
Been working for the same company for 37 years so a bit institutionalised.
