Warm and cheap in March - Ideally for views/hikes not city
Discussion
Where can I go in March for a long weekend that's warm and cheap? I'd like views and hikes and probably not a city.
The obvious options seem to be:
- Portugal (Algarve)
- South of Spain
- Madeira
- Malta
- Canaries (might be too far?)
The Welsh grey and wet winters are starting to get to me.

Nerja, Competa, Rio Gordo .... anywhere in Axarquía basically. Should be 18-20 ish degrees and you have to be very unlucky to not enjoy a sunny week with 320 days a year of sunshine. I cycle around that area but tts very popular for walkers. Away from the coast its quiet and accomodation is very reasonable ... as is eating and drinking.
