Afternoon everyone
We have just had a gas fire fitted to our house today and it looks fab. Unfortunately, during testing, it failed the emissions test with fumes coming back into the house rather than out of the chimney. So far the only info I have is the flu is 'flattened'. I don't know if this is just the top portion, the whole thing or something else.
We are waiting on another visit from the supplier but I wondered what our options are and what the cost is likely to be. So far I believe it is a choice of a new flu liner or remove it back to brick and just use the chimney as a chimney.
Just to add to the issues it is a late 16th Century cottage so it has a thatched roof but a conventional brick built chimney.
Has anyone had a similar issue or experience they could relay?
Does anyone know or could recommend someone to look at this (we are in Cheshire West area)?
Last possibility, does anyone want to buy a custom made fire, only had 1 minute's use before being condemned!!!
Thanks
Brian
