Hi, the seal on the targa roof panel that aligns to the drivers door glass keep falling out in the centre of the channel. Not at either end but in the centre. I have carefully pushed it back into place )one side first then the other side afterwards, but within a mile driving down the road it slips out again.

Am i doing it wrong or is it time for a new rubber seal?

Any advice is welcome and thanks in advance.

I'd suggest it the wrong type or is very badly worn.

The profile of the rubber should be such that it slides into the channel from either end (on early cars it is riveted in I think). Otherwise it would fall out when you motor the window glass down!

As mentioned above,
A photo might save a thousand words.

It might well have the wrong profile.
There’s no way I could get the rubber into the channel on mine by just pushing it in!
Before proceeding any further I’d take a profile picture of the rubber the next time it falls and post on here.
Ordinarily the only way you will get the rubber into the channel successfully would be to lubricate the rubber with something like vasaline or washing up liquid is my preferred choice then feed it into the channel from one end to the other. Once in place poor warm water along the rubber removing the washing up liquid.
