Elise s1 immobiliser

Hello everyone, I have and immobiliser issue that I can’t find an answer to on the forums. The car has been on a trickle charger all winter. I took it out for a blast in November to keep things ticker over. I went to start it today. I use the little stick to de activate the immobiliser. I didn’t have any usual flash of indicators and the red LED light on the dash was not flashing. I turned the ignition on, everything lit up but didn’t start. The red LED doesn’t flash at all when the ignition is off and the immobiliser doesn’t reset itself after a period of time. Has the immobiliser given up? Is the best thing to get a immobiliser bypass?
