I'd imagine on top the hill at the Forest Esses to give a view over both the main circuit and the Bugatti.

Isn’t there a campsite there?

And a large wall to piss against?

Not any more, this could well explain the death of Tertre Rouge camping, the other possibility is that it’s going to be down by the stadium, you’d need to be a few floors up to get a view of the track from there though.

It says forest esses so isn’t that technically the bit on the outside before Terte Rouge? There’s quite a high ridge/hill there which probably makes a premium viewing spot

they'd be better off investing to 5 or 6x the size of the hotel ibis at mulsanne, the space would likely take it, even if they had to go up and it would be sold out at capacity for all of the le mans based events throughout year.. doing this would not remove spectator space nor camping at track..

or another option if they wanted to still keep something unique.. purchase the hotel arbor site and redesign make it 200 rooms there.... setup rooms with track balconies and also accomodate a roof top space that they could ticket during race for the hotel.. you then have a hotel with a view of the cars going flat out... and again no impact at the main part of track..and those rooms would go for mega bucks during race... or if arbor wasn't available go for the massive space of the partedi building supplier a little further up the road.. redesign that in similar style.. just requries some creative thinking / approaching owners with an offer they can't refuse.. the straight has so many development options but nowadays so little of it is seen unless you are watching on tv... gone are the days of walking through the forest to pop your head out onto the road - I never saw that but the tales are legendary and would be nice to be able to capture some of that again I guess

There’s not a lot of space there though, and you’d be right up against the motorway embankment, and there wouldn’t be a view of the Bugatti circuit.
It odd that this has come out without them actually saying where it’s going to be.

I just presumed this would be on the inside of the circuit, just down from Dunlop Bridge? Still quite hilly there and would offer views both sides of the hotel.

Le Maine Libre confirms it’ll be down by the football ground car park, looks like the there’s a field on google maps which is presumably the main site, might involve a spot of demolition of buildings down there too

Yes Tertre Rouge is the latest in the long list of the traditional campsites to get axed

So away from current public (GE) viewing areas which is good

as otherwise the buildings and roads would creep and creep and really cut down on viewing and moving around the circuit from Dunlop bridge to Tertre Rouge corner -

It’s certainly a refreshing change for something like this to be done without it affecting the ordinary punters

We probably have to be a bit careful about making too many assumptions....

Going off the loose description of where it will be placed, there aren’t too many practical options.

Outside of the circuit, it would have to be in the area that is now marked as a fan zone or use some of the red parking but that would be the other side of the motorway then.

Inside, I guess they could take some of the parking area near the stadium or there is the area with some private houses/land which may have been bought out.

As for any usefulness of this hotel in terms of the 24hrs for the average fan, it is likely going to be irrelevant. If actually available to book it will be ridiculously priced. But more likely to be block booked by a tour company where pricing will be very high or taken over for corporate vip.

Yes, there's nothing in it for us. They'll probably demolish the Dunlop bridge as it'll ruin the view from the hotel.

Maybe it is closer to current areas as article mentions exclusive views of Bugatti circuit before main LM track - there was a hospitality car park there a year or so ago by the traffic entrance/exit that leads to road that goes under the track at Tertre Rouge.

Hopefully the ACO are risking any significant money in the development
