Aircraft upside down.

Not been a good few weeks for aviation.

Windsock certainly tells a story too. Wings gone by the looks of it.
A number of injuries reported but sounds like maybe everyone survived, but still TBC.

I recall once seeing footage of a cargo plane bouncing on landing before overturning in the air and coming down inverted. I guess this could have been something similar. Strong crosswind making for a challenging touchdown and then helping it flip over after a bounce.

Usually something happens to cause one wing to create zero lift (i.e it physically detaching from the airframe) and then the good wing produces enough lift to roll the aircraft over.

I know the person recording is probably in shock but Jesus Christ there trying to spray foam on it and your stood there with a camera to document it.

Help your fellow human being, even if it’s just assuring them there ok, find them somewhere to sit down.

Bloody social media and camera phones has a lot to answer for.

Either way hope they all got out ok with nothing more than minor injuries at worse.

Very concerning to have so many incidents in such a short time.

From YYZ twitter-

"Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis. Emergency teams are responding. All passengers and crew are accounted for."

Mind boggling how it ended up on its back but equally amazing how intact it seems to be. You’d assume the runway and apron are completely covered by cameras so at some point we shall probably see what happened.

Landing in gusting crosswinds with blowing snow across the surface of the runway can cause some challenging visual illusions. I reckon the weather will have played some part in this.

Yes. This is the larger CRJ900 variant but basically the same. I am nut seeing any possible connection unless the US army was fling across the runway when it landed.

It's amazing that everyone appears to have got out alive from an upside-down burning aircraft.

He's not remotely in the way. Loads of other people are nearer. He's fine.

It's as if they are extremely popular planes in the USA for short hops.
