I'm looking for the protective rubber part that covers the metal hole jobbies where the roof bullet shaped things fit in to. I need the rubber that protects the metal from damaging the back of the roof.

I used some 1mm(?) thick rubber packing that I had in the garage.

Lord knows where it came from, but Amazon/Google search may prove fruitful.
It needs to be flexible in order to wrap around the receiving holes.....and stay glued!!

Any pictures of what these rubber thingies are? I seem to just have metal tubes that the locking pins engage with...

Keith, the rubber is wrapped around the metal "female" tube that the retractable 'pin' goes into. It's there to stop vibration/rattling of the targa panel when locked onto the car. It is just a strip of rubber glued onto the female bracket in the rear corners of the panel.

They are formed pieces on my early Mk1, but not to say they didn't change to a strip of rubber later on. I'll try and get some pics later.
