I just read the TV magazine for next week. On Monday 17th at 19.55 there is a new edition of "Car SOS" featuring a 1962 Grantura, stated to have "fallen into a terrible state of disrepair".

Channel More4 - Freeview 18, Sky 136, Virgin 147, Freesat 124.

Great news thanks in a manner of speaking, as we don't want to see TVR'S getting into such a state.

Is the body glued to the chassis on these models?

Yes, fibreglassed around the chassis, officially. It will be interesting to see how SOS finished off.

They removed all the fibreglass attaching the body to the chassis. This then revealed some serious rot in the chassis.

The chassis was fully repaired and then "glassed" back into the body as it was done originally at TVR.

They even blanked off the tube ends to stop any water ingress in the future. Apparently TVR did not do this ?

They really made a first class job of everything. It must be up there now as one of the best examples there is.

I presume the John Cleese character is still in it so I won't be watching.

The guy needs to tone down the clown performance - it's nauseating.

Problem is that I reckon he's actually like that off camera.

So no thanks.

Ever.

Well the TVR owner definitely did not know it was his car, Tim had to support him at one time.

Ford Capri next week, think that is a repeat too

I attended a motor related corporate event a couple of years ago and he was in attendance. Like you I am not keen, however he was nothing like his TV persona at the event.

I watched the show last night. It was filmed last year, and I certainly hadn't seen it before, unless it was on Discovery or one of the pay channels I'm too tight to subscribe to. What an utterly fantastic job they did. The car was stunning. I'd love to know the real cost of the rebuilds they undertake, with parts and labour. As others say, Tim can be annoying, but this is still my favourite car show, by a long way.

Tim is a real car enthusiast nerd biggrin Always comes across well when I've met him

Met him a few times, along with Fuzz, and Fuzz on his own. Also met them last year at the British Motor Show when they walked around the cars, came to chat on the TVR stand, when they mentioned they were doing a TVR but not what.
