You need to get the codes read. Did you perform any repairs on the vehicle? Why was the bonnet open?

More importantly, have you closed it? wink

Joking aside, my V40 has this & on the few times I have hit a pheasant it comes on, then goes off when the power is cycled, perhaps yours just needs a reset.

My mate insisted on opening the bonnet out of curiosity I’m sure it does need resetting how would one do that?

I didn't mean the simple act of opening the bonnet means it needs resetting, but that the "warning" might need a reset from a scantool. Not sure if yours should reset from just a power-cycle like mine does.

Your manual should help.

Many years ago I was told something in jest that has stuck with me & I am definitely guilty of this one.

If all else fails read the instructions. wink

Again, you need to get the codes read. If it's persisting and hasn't gone away with a few key cycles, the crash module sees it as a valid error. It's got an acceleration sensor and a fibre optic loop behind the bumper, along with the actuators on the bonnet.
