Wow that is a beautiful example of a mk1 and I'd be bidding for sure if only it had some service history. So disappointing.

Thank you. How often has the oil been changed please and do you have any proof of servicing over the years?

hi my daughters partner had a garage in Warrington he went over the car every summer before the M O T. Oil has not been changed since 2019 but I have not done over 1000 miles since it was changed., oil is only semi syntheyic need to replace this year but the oil is as clear as the day it went in, This has always been a second car. This car has not been out in the rain for over 25 years and only replaced tyres and battery nothing else at five years. I waxoiled inner wings doors sills and undersealed the res. If you look at these mot one year it jumps from March to july that was the four months it was off the road while I did all this work regards Clive

Hello
Can you say if the soft top has heated window and what condition it is in?
Surprised you weren’t advised to show pics of the soft top.
I recently bought NC through Pistonheads auction and whilst it’s very clean and low mileage I have discovered several niggles and parts needing replacement.
The owner wouldn’t have discovered these because the car was stored a little like yours.
Can you assure me that there no niggles or knocks down under?
Kind regards

Hi AD1369

Many thanks for your question. Yes there is a reserve set against this great example of an MX-5. We do not display the reserve or guide, we just ask any bidders to place bids to a level they feel comfortable with too hopefully acquire such a great car.

Best Wishes
Dave

Hi Clive. You mention some cracking on the tyre side walls. Could you confirm the age of the tyres? I'm struggling to read the DOT Code on the photo's. Thanks.

Hi Clive, The MX5 looks very nice and I shall be bidding.
Just one thing I have noticed,
Looking at the MOT history on line,
The mileage on the 17/05/2006 is 22925 miles
on the 03/05/2007 it is then 26343 miles before dropping back to 22925 miles on 28/05/2008.
The mileage then builds up correctly over the years to the present day.
Can you explain this, perhaps the MOT tester made a mistake in 2007?
Good luck with the sell.
Regards Brian.

Hi, If I was to win the auction and buy the MX5, would it make the journey back to Somerset okay?
Is there a train station near you, I'm thinking that I could get the train up and drive back.
I'm assuming that it's quite reliable?
Regards Brian.

Hi H5BDD, Yes there is a local train station near me, if you catch the train to Preston, then change to Bamber Bridge that would be perfect. And yes it would be all good for a drive back to somerset, no problems at all.

Kind regards

Hi Brian, this is Dave replying on the sellers behalf. The seller has confirmed that is was a mistake with the MOT tester on the mileage.

Thank

Hi, this is dave from PistonHeads, just replying on the sellers behalf. It is on its 2nd set of tyres, plenty of tread, although the seller has advised that these may need to be changed due to age.

Kind Regards
