TLDR: iCloud bookmarks have stopped synchronising on my iPad, but work correctly between Firefox on my PC and with my iPhone. iCloud Notes synchronise correctly between all three devices - the problem is just bookmarks, and just with my iPad. How best to resolve this without losing all my bookmarks on the iPad?

I was doing some housekeeping on bookmarks the other day, using Firefox on my PC. At first, all changes I made were synchronising correctly to Safari on my iPad, but mid-way through the session I noticed that the iPad was no longer updating the bookmarks. It just stopped working for no apparent reason.

Now, any bookmark changes I make on the iPad do not synchronise to Firefox on the PC, nor to my iPhone. Likewise, the iPad does not receive any bookmark changes from either Firefox or my iPhone. However, Firefox and my iPhone synchronise bookmarks instantly between themselves.

iCloud Notes, however, are working perfectly. In fact I'm composing this post as an iCloud Note in Firefox on my PC, and it is synchronising dynamically on both my iPad and iPhone as I type.

In Settings on my iPad, under my Apple account -> iCloud -> Saved to iCloud -> See All, the switch next to Safari is turned on (and I hadn't changed this). I have tried turning this off, but when prompted I said "Keep on My iPad" rather than "De_lete from My iPad" , because I didn't trust it to bring my bookmarks back if I deleted them. I left it for a few minutes then turned it back on, but nothing changed - still not synchronising.

Note to mods: Please, please can you fix the annoying "403 Forbidden" problem? It's just taken me ages to figure out that I needed to insert an underscore into the word "delete" in the above paragraph. It's really annoying!

Should I be brave and go with the "Delete" option, then turn it back on? If this doesn't work, is there any other way of importing bookmarks into Safari on an iPad? I would want a way to get back to where I am now, with my bookmarks reasonably complete (albeit not fully synchronised).

Any other ideas?
