Transfer files from PC to iPhone?
Discussion
As above there are quite a few ways to access shared online files.
However for a physical transfer medium, I’ve just purchased a dual drive USB stick that plugs into both USB C (iPhone) and USB A (laptop).
Transfer files onto it from the laptop and then open in Files when plugged into the iPhone.

This is the way I ended up doing it - a separate gmail account just for the phone. Still annoying that I can drag and drop in one direction, but not in the other. And I seem to remember it was so fiddly trying to transfer files from the phone to the PC without a cable that I gave up and now plug it in. Mine's an old one, though, so maybe it's better now. Thanks for all the suggestions. These are music files, BTW, collected over a good many years.
I managed to get some onto the phone by using OneDrive, and found to my disappointment that there doesn't seem to be any way of using a music track as a ringtone, something I could easily do on my Android phone. Current thinking is to just use the iPhone as a video camera and to keep my Samsung as my phone.

As I said earlier. If you want a physical copy on your phone, use a double ended USB stick (see link earlier in the thread).I managed to get some onto the phone by using OneDrive, and found to my disappointment that there doesn't seem to be any way of using a music track as a ringtone, something I could easily do on my Android phone. Drag all the music onto the USB (a) stick, plug the other end of the USB (c) into the charging port on your iPhone and repeat into a folder in Files.
Takes minutes to copy hundreds of files, and just as easy as Android.
