Buying privately
Discussion
I can't find the watch I want from a dealer, where I can use my credit card to obtain protection. But a watch I like has come up from a private seller, on Chrono 24.
How do people proceed with respect to making sure a watch isn't stolen, or otherwise being sold by someone with no right to sell it?

According to C24 FAQs, authentication includes a theft check.
You can use your credit card as the payment method into C24's escrow service.
Actual proof of eligibility for the seller to sell the item is not adequately described on C24 FAQ..
I suspect the fact that ESCROW is in the middle and the seller is private would negate the card provider's liability. I could be wrong. You can use your credit card as the payment method into C24's escrow service.

Can't you also get the serial number and check with someone like Omega/Rolex to see if it's on their database? You can use your credit card as the payment method into C24's escrow service.
