strange 981 exhaust muffler - is this normal?

Hi, I've purchased a 981 Boxster from an OPC and noticed the exhaust muffler looking weird, see the photo.
Is this normal or have the previous owner done something funny?!
The car has only done 12k miles.
Unfortunately I've sold my previous 981 and don't really remember what the muffler looked like on that, to compare.

... and also why is that cable sticking out, anyone knows what it is? Tried to hide it back, but it does come out.

Just the OEM PSE exhaust isn't it? I'm assuming you have a switch on the center console to open the valves?

By “cable” I suspect you’re referring to the silver braided hose ? It supplies vacuum to the PSE actuator.
It should be clipped up, but someone’s either broken the clip or not bothered to fit the pipe into the clip.
