I’ve been dealing with another forum darling recently and found them to be really disorganised. The engineers for these places sometimes have a deservedly good reputation but the admin side just doesn’t match up and you are left feeling as though you are chasing them to give your business.
I’m not talking about Thorney here but as an aside he could have almost certainly sold me a McLaren with a slightly more responsive service. I’m sure he’ll survive but I do think that some of the top dealers and mechanics leave a lot of money on the table.

Spoke to Rosie this week, day after responding to emails, busy for servicing etc April time.
Good people are always going to be in demand, in this day and age of the electronic medium it's sometimes difficult to manage our own expectations.
One thing my education has taught me though, is that there isn't someone just waiting for my comms to respond to; so I measure my expectations accordingly now.

As a business though I think having someone answering emails and picking up the phone well and promptly is a good investment.Good people are always going to be in demand, in this day and age of the electronic medium it's sometimes difficult to manage our own expectations.

Maybe it’s a me problem but in both of my recent cases I just took my business elsewhere.
An issue for me too! If you aren't going to reply or can't because you don't have the manpower don't advertise what you can't or won't service!
If I had a pound for every website accessed email query I've ever sent but had no reply to I'd be a lot better off than I am 🙄😳

Or as in my case, no response to an email in over a week and a phone not even answered.

Car I've been looking at the dealer tried to get into V to sort the issues found but was told mid April too.
On a side note I emailed Thorney a few weeks ago regarding a possible inspection on the above car but still waiting for a reply!
I also contacted Thorney re hinges and inspection. Next day reply to email, when I left a voicemail John Thorney called me in person the next day. On a side note I emailed Thorney a few weeks ago regarding a possible inspection on the above car but still waiting for a reply!
Inspections are a 3 week wait but they are a quality place and a booming business at the moment. I was genuinely impressed (running a business myself).

What I will say, is like a good restaurant, V engineering are worth waiting for. I've had awful service from companies that put all their effort into getting work then the actual work is dreadful. Don't judge a company by its eagerness to respond.

Answering emails or even the phone isn't hard to achieve, regardless of your lead times/capacity, if you called this mystical restaurant and they didn't answer llm sure you wouldn't keep trying.
Only posted to see if anyone knew if they were having technical issues/sickness that would justify the lack of response, to be fair if they are booking into April ill look elsewhere anyway.

I'm fortunately not far from V Engineering and was invited to visit a couple of weeks ago. It was obvious Paul and the team are extremely busy and trying to build the business. The workshop was busy and 3 P1s lined up. Paul spent a couple of hours of his valuable time chatting about the cars and booked my car in for service for end of March, so booking now for April would be correct. I walked away very impressed and wouldn't consider going elsewhere. V are brilliant. Paul has spent several hours chatting to me and showing me the inside of gearboxes and the like. They are passionate about what they do and they do it their way. I respect that, I work on yachts and have no front of house, a team of three and it’s worked for 24 years, through all the ups and downs. I’m a nightmare to get hold of if your a new client; however if I’ve worked on your boat I’ll pick up your WhatsApp on a Sunday.

I would keep trying if someone was highly recommended by good friends. As I said I don't judge places by their telephone / email response times. IMHO the better / busier someone is the more likely they are not to answer the phone immediately. I agree with tobytwo above. I have been talking to clients on the phone, today, Sunday. however new potential clients emailing me might not get a response for 2 or 3 days, if I'm busy with existing clients. Anyway I get your point, apologies for side tracking. But 'V' are worth waiting for if you can.
