Bit of an odd one, but I'm treasurer for our local Theatre group. When we put on shows we stock the bar usually by going to Tesco (or wherever has deals on) but I was wondering if there are cheaper options in Bristol that anyone might know about ?

We normally spend about 2,000GBP on bar stock :mix of wine (Red/White & Rose), Lager (in cans as we don't have pumps or gas), Ale, Guiness and we normally go to Butcombe brewery and pick up a cask along with pre-mixed spirit drinks (G&T, V&T, V&C) along with Coke, Lemonade, orange juice etc and what we found in the last show is a strong request for alcohol-free beers and ciders so would like to stock those this time.

Any suggestions on wholesalers who might be able to save us a few quid ?

Cheers !

That's big league, no answer but I know that I broke the Sainsbury's drink spend. At about £240 it stopped me spending any more, the staff came along and took the rest of the trolley away. I of course went back into the store after loading up and collected it again. It refused the same card but another worked ok. If I want to spend £400 on drinks, please let me!

Costco in Avonmouth? You need to be a "business" to join but I imagine either someone will have membership or at least the ability to get one

Yeah I have a business account with them for my 'proper' line of work. I'll have to go up there and see what the prices are like and compare.

I found some alcohol 'wholesalers' online based in Bristol, but don't know if they are any good so was hoping for a steer in the right direction !

Long time no speak bud, hope you are keeping well. There is a great little family owned wholesaler in WsM called Salamis, they are in Sunnyside Road North behind the rugby club.

Do all the stuff you are after and believe they are pretty competitive too, looked for a website but they are on FB.

Please can you update the thread once you've been. I've always thought supermarkets treated alcohol as a loss leader to breed loyalty, but never tested it out. Interested to see if they can beaten on price.
