Guys, I have screwed up and booked a ferry to Dieppe on Tuesday 10th June but have just been told that I can't arrive at Porsche Curves TD campsite until Wednesday, anyone got an idea of somewhere good to stay the night between Dieppe to Le Mans or a little further off field? Maybe i should just book a hotel at Le Mans for the night but any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers

I would suggest heading west to Honfleur for the night, it takes you neatly away from Rouen via the Pont de Normandie bridge and just people watch in the harbour for the evening.

If you want somewhere typically French and just off your route down then the Hôtel du Tribunal in Mortagne-au-Perche is nice - good food - one of the Logis hotels - we've stayed there on the way back before.

We’re having the Monday travelling around the Normandy beaches, lunch at Arromanches, few memorials, then heading to a house on outskirts of Alencon. Arrive Tuesday and get settled with wine and crisps before the fun starts Wednesday. We had a night in Sees last year, not the most happening of towns.

Head down the N154 to Chartres. Plenty of reasonable hotels .

Plus a fab place to wander around. The Cathedral is spectacular, and they have a light show at night

We had a great meal there a few years ago ( cost a bit for the view though).

Then it’s only a couple, of hours to LM. If you use N road, no tolls. If you use A11, around €12 or so.

N154 is toll free from Rouen all the way and you’ll avoid the chaos of the A28

Another vote for Honfleur, we stay there every year, then down the old N138 to Gace for lunch before a reasoanable run down to LM.
