Hi

Not sure how many of you are on M3Cutters but after 13 years I've been banned because I don't like Kier Starmer. Along with several other long-standing members. Seems if you're a socialist, you can say what you want but don't dare have apposing views of the admins.

I didn't even post anything particularly offensive - compared to what others have posted.

I created a new account which took 2 months to approve, wrote 3 posts and got banned again after posting about Starmer's speech coaching in lock-down!

I just wanted a bit of a rant, so indulge me smile

It's their board, they can ban who they like. Start your own M3Reform board and say whatever you want.

It is their board, you're correct.

You sound like you'd fit in well if you're not already on there.

I'm on Cutters and followed the threads.

There are plenty of posts criticising SKS, other politicians, etc. From what I can see, no one is getting banned for being left- or right-leaning, or anything in between. I guess what they don't want is links to Guido Bloody Fawkes, GBeebies or any other sensationalist conspiracy nonsense with no basis in real journalism.

The concept of free speech always seems to get misunderstood at times like this. You had free speech, you were allowed to post whatever you wanted, and your posts remain on the site for all to see. But you don't have freedom from consequence, it's their house and their rules and the banned you.

FWIW, I don't agree with you being banned. I think banning is churlish when people are just expressing opinions, no matter how amateur the source is. But you also have the option to join in the debate in a different way. Plenty of other users there posting disparaging things about the government and getting along just fine.

Maybe talk about politics on a politics forum instead of a car one? I'm sure there are plenty of forums or facebook groups for the more gammon faced individual.

Snowflake?

I'm the least snowflakey person you'll ever meet.

How does my post suggest I'm a snowflake?

Whenever people whinge about GBN, they don't seem to accept the MSM are also reporting the same.

Not much point having a "General Chat" section if it's limited to a particular political persuasion.

Probably because you're throwing your toys out the pram over not being able to say what you want without consequence

I didn't say anything that deserved any consequence - unlike others on the site.

Don't you think it would be more appropriate to at least be warned I shouldn't post hurty words about Starmer and/or at least be given a reason for the ban?

I see some pathetic user has altered my subject line - although it's still accurate so thanks.

I imagine only a mod can change your thread title. And move you into a more appropriate area of the forum.

You do know a private forum can ban whoever they like and for whatever reason?

And yes, you are having an epic sulk.

I bit childish but I get the point.

I'd say it's now in the wrong forum though.

No it's not Stu, I used the same username on every forum I'm on.

Stu's allowed back on the 17th apparently.
