Servicing the slide rail bearings on an electric mitre saw
Discussion
I bought a used Evolution Fury 3 sliding mitre saw today. It hadn't been used for three years, having been up in an attic.
It works ok, however the slide rail bearings feel a bit rough but not slack. Has anyone had this sort of bearing apart to service them and did it:
a. Make any difference?
b. Justify the time and effort?

Thanks for the replies. The are a couple of small rust pits on the rails so I will give the aluminium foil trick a go. I have seen a lot worse though and the roughness is over the whole travel. Reading up, the advice was to use dry graphite lubricant to avoid the rails becoming a dust magnet. I've ordered some so will report back when I've tried it.
I've just come across this video showing what's inside a linear bearing, so will give it the stripdown and clean as he suggests.
