Underwater video/pictures with phone
Discussion
Hi all,
Just wondered if anybody out there uses their phones for underwater videos/pictures, I have a Pixel 9 which is IP68.
Few years ago I bought a cheap gopro knock off to use while diving in Greece, me and the wife will be in Bali in March and will do some snorkeling/diving out there and just wondered if the phone + waterproof case will be fine for the job as the gopro knockoff, if I'm honest was poor.

Won't the waterproof case obscure the picture?
Years ago, I was on holiday and the girl I was with wanted some underwater shots of fishes. She announced she was going to use her waterproof iPhone.
I told her it was a very bad idea - even if it was waterproof, salt water was a very different thing.
She ignored me. 2 hours later, her phone got very hot and died.

Don't do underwater much but used something similar to this the one time we visited the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. Would use again. https://www.amazon.co.uk/JOTO-Waterproof-Uderwater...
I use the sealife sports diver case and it is spot on for this - phone camera technology is brilliant and the quality of the pics underwater is top tier.
It has built in pressure sensors (you create a vacuum before it allows it to work underwater) so you have some warning if its all about to get wet

You can get "professional" cases from ebay £30 or just simple plastic bags, £10
