MotoGP 2025 starts now
Discussion
Looked at the times, I haven't checked if these are comparable with practice/race times previously. Only Pirro on track for Ducati, I'd have thought Fermin may have had an outing, but maybe being on a 3rd tier Ducati and a GP24 it makes no sense from a data/cost perspective.
Rumours continue to fly around regarding Yamaha getting their V4 out here, but is it just rumour?
Glad to see it back, it'll soon be round 1.
Other news I saw KTM are developing a bike for the 2027 regs, good news but I'm still baffled how they can be spending millions on MotoGP development when they haven't got 2 Swiss francs to rub together.

Maybe they have enough secured sponsorship money to cover it, who knows in 2027 the bikes may be called Red Bull.FourWheelDrift said:

Maybe that's all Castrol were prepared to pay. It's poor form from HRC, nicking a long time sponsor of their satellite team. I assume you'd be looking at £20 million ish to be title sponsor and cover the fairing Few more out on day 2 - https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/1062550/1/2025-s...

The colours are HRC, however much Castrol are paying clearly isn't enough for the full fairing paint job. If you go back a few years and look at the Red Bull sponsored bikes their logo occupies about the same size and space as the Castrol logo, and RB were only the junior sponsor behind Repsol.
A bike wobbling round at the back of the grid isn't going to be as exciting to sponsors as a MM ridden World Championship winning machine, so I guess Honda are going to be funding this year a lot more than they have in the past.
Decent start for Ogura on the Trackhouse Aprilia, 0.4 off Fabio. MotoGP.com also reports that he did a longer run and was a few tenths quicker after 17 laps than the top Aprilia last year.
Still work to do at Honda - Aleix hit a 1.58:1 which is in the same ballpark as Zarco's 1.57:97 in Q2. MotoGP.com didn't say whether Aleix did his time as part of a longer run or as a time attack.
