It certainly got noticed when he turned up to the stages , bloody rapid too . Guessing 86/87 JC van hire Bridgend stages he was behind us on the start line once , luckily he blagged a 2 minute gap due to the dust , I wasn’t complaining. I know he’s left it like this as a big FU to the MSAUK but it’d be great to see this and the Peugeot restored and used for shows and demo events, such a part of British rallying heritage imho .

BIG part of Rallying heritage among other homebuilds through the years, both cars drew folk in. Sad isn't it.
Not just an Engineer but a capable driver too.

I am very shocked to see it, last time I spoke to him he said it was in a shed on the farm as was the 306, it actually looks in decent nick.
I do hope it might eventually run, though at the end he mentions the engine blew up and I doubt they are easy to get hold of sadly.
Would be great to see it doing demo's etc and an invite to Roger Albert, would be amazing, just for the hell of it, would probably put 5000 on the punter numbers alone.
I do wonder why it was anywhere, and hope he has an itch!!

Do you sometimes feel like you want to nudge the guy a little he is a slightly frustrating figure at times I feel, but it's his money, his cars and his time, farming is a tricky business if that is what he still does. I don't quite know how he managed to afford the Peugeot, when you watch that clip and see the stack of engines parts and pistons, it must have cost a bomb!!
Each to their own I suppose, prep, organisation etc AND car building to boot all consume a lot of time; I know running a farm will. Can understand why the MSA outlawing such cars was the final nail. Can't help but see how close the Puggy was to modern day WRC etc. cars, he was ahead of his time.
I never got a close look at the Alfa F. Would it pass the MSA K37.. ? Requirement, I don't think that was spaceframe ? Don't suppose it was ever log booked.
It really would be a sight on the RAC.

I have no issue with either not competing again, but to simply be able to run and do demos would be awesome, the 306 is perhaps the most legendary rally car of recent times and to think it is just sitting there doing nothing saddens me, as you say each to their own, but I do feel like if someone bought it it might be able to run in demos etc but I doubt he would ever sell it.
