Just trying to replace the top part of a tap with a reviver kit :-

The screw that holds the tap handle on the existing tap is solid and has now turned the thread so unlikey to come out easily -

Whats the easiest way to remove the top handle and cartridge now? Can you simply use the existing handle and force turn it to unscrew the cartridge?

Yes, just keep turning and once the cartridge has fully opened then continued force will unscrew the whole thing from the tap body.

Put my entire weight behind it. Not moving, so gone and bought a full new tap set for £25.

Reckon something was going to snap before it budged.
