It has been announced that Eurosport will cease broadcasting the UK on 28th Feb to be replaced by the subscription only TNT Sports.

https://escapecollective.com/tnt-blows-up-cycling-...

As a keen professional cycling fan this has a huge impact on me as Eurosport broadcast almost (if not all) professional races that run from Feb - Oct are can back up their claim of being 'home of cycling'.

The kicker? As a Sky subscriber, Eurosport is going from being free as part of the base package to an eye-watering £30.99 per month. Other routes to cycling via the various Warner owned apps and packages have also been cut off which means there is almost zero other ways to watch.

I'm well used to channels on Sky evolving and sports jumping between providers but this is the first time I've experienced such a brutal lack of access.

A massive fk you to the consumer from Warner.

Very annoying, I love the cycling, British Superbikes and World Superbikes, but won't be paying £30+ a month :-(

Me too! Only place really where you could watch the classics as well really. Thought it was bad enough that ITV were stopping showing the Tour de France, but know there is nowhere!

Looks like I’ll be having to find some illegal streams to view as well or whatever source I can find.

A sad year for UK cycle fans.

It's £6.99 a month for full access to all of the cycling coverage on Eurosport. This also gets you access to all of the on-demand coverage too.

The £30 month option includes football and the champion league matches.

BT/TNT/Discovery is ste.

I don't see it lasting. It's terrible value for money compared with Sky.

When I said ‘I wish cycling was like it was when I was younger’ I meant this:

Not a weird sport that you had no access to & no-one outside that one bike shop in town that sold Campagnolo components understood properly.

Good luck with Discovery+.
It's almost amateurish. Slow to load, pause and you never know if it'll restart, RW or FF and it's a total lottery.

Gutted by this as I've recently got Disco+ free with sky and was looking forward to watching the UCI DH. Miss the days of it being on the redbull app! Snooker too, luckily that's usually on terrestrial TV as well though.

I mostly want the mountain biking live. 40 quid for GCN was OK, £6.99 for the active months was just about OK, £31 can GTFO. I'll watch highlights on youtube or seek out some dodgy streams before I pay that.

This is the last year of free to air Tour de France coverage too - no ITV deal from 2026 onwards.

I was trying to get it working on Sky Q yesterday to watch the Champ League games that they weren't showing on the normal TNT channels.
Took ages with numerous QR codes and logging into my Sky account and creating separate accounts for the app

It must have taken about 20 odd mins before I finally got it going.

Double whammy with ITV losing TdF coverage from next year too. Hopefully, they will be some free-to-air highlights somewhere at least (like the Champions League has on BBC now).

The price rise in conjunction with Pogačar dominating to such an extent means quite a few people will unsubscribe when the increase kicks in.

I used Discovery+ last year during the olympics, the quality of the stream was atrocious and even the audio was super low bitrate (tried with my LG TV and also via laptop)

Was watching the cycling alternating between the live coverage when it was on BBC and then Discovery+ when it wasn't and in the end I couldn't deal with how poor quality the Discovery+ stream was, you couldn't read the numbers off the cycling jerseys whereas in the BBC feed they were clearly visible.

Reminded me of when Eurosport first started digital streaming a decade back, back then was more acceptable due to the technical constraints plus it was £44 for an annual sub and you got every sport included.

I'll be binning my subscription too which is a shame because I've actually got on alright with Discovery +. I stream it on my PC, on the living room TV (Sony with Android TV app) and in the kitchen through a Google Chromecast TV dongle. All 3 work well - menus are a little slow but never seen any buffering and the like on any of them. Picture quality is pretty good unless you're some of the stty small races that look like the cameraman is using a mobile from 10 years ago.

I'm just gutted that they couldn't have waited until mid April. Spring classics months is the only thing I can see my resolve weakening on.
