I've just received an email with the sad news that Ian Allan Motors will be closing permanently on March 7th 2025 (sorry for the typo in the subject line).

This begs the question of where to buy new C8s but also what should existing owners do to maintain their cars and keep within warranty terms, let alone how to make any warranty claim.

Same old same old
Vauxhall selling Corvette then stopped selling and service
Stratstones stopped selling and then Bauer Millett
I take it Ian Goss services will be getting busy!

Parts USA in Stockport for warranty work and service they are approved GM and Cadillac corvette service agents
But someone in the south would be good.
I used them in December 24 and found them very expensive for what I had done and pretty poor customer service. Not even a smile from the service staff!

I think a bigger player should take on the service work but for a few hundred cars sold it’s hardly worth the set up costa for most people

Shame. I love the Corvette, at least we can still get one.

Interesting what you say about your experience at Ian Allan Motors. I stopped using them for servicing as the price hikes every year were getting ridiculous. Remember this is where a SsangYong technician puts on his GM hat and triples the hourly rate. Showroom was low-grade for selling £100k C8's and the service staff didn't appear to have any passion for the Corvette brand. If a senior GM executive flew over and mystery shopped that place it would have been shut years ago.

I think GM did not care it just looked good that they had sales and service in the UK
Even that the showroom still had all the old Saab desks and chairs from 2007

Blimey, that's quite big news for the UK Corvette world?

I'm luckily 5 mins drive from Ian Goss, and he's looked after mine for 5 years. So if this means he gets more business, I'm actually pleased.

I'm booked in for my annual service & MOT with Ian in early March. Wouldn't take my 'Vette anywhere else.

Indeed, I'm already starting the countdown in my head to better weather and Ian getting it out of hibernation for me!

Do they have a website or can you share contact details please? Not 100% sure I'm finding the right place on Google.

Very low-key regarding any marketing or social media (basically non existent apart from Facebook), but he has no need to be active in that respect. A successful business built on word of mouth and reputation. You're right.. he is THE man for Corvettes.

Well that's a bit of a surprise ,they been there for quite a while,

Did call in there for a nosy as i was passing by after collecting my car from Maranello's just up the road from them ,

There was no room to park on the forecourt so left my car in the road and walked in,

We were there for around 15 minutes looking at the cars that were for sale in the showroom and outside

but although there were what i assumed sales staff not one person approached us to see if they could help,

Wasn't till we were getting into our car that one of the staff walked very quickly towards us and asked us could he be

of some help, Whether it's because my appearance resembles Worzel Gummidge opposed to David Gandy had anything

to do with it , i do hate it when some but not all salesmen in these high end garages judge a book by it's cover without even talking to them.

I've recently bought a LZ1 Camaro and was hoping they would be able to look after it for me as they are the nearest dealer to me ,

my local people who look after my classics haven't got the software for a modern yank ,

Maybe i'll give Ian Goss a go when i need a service,

shame ian allen didnt promote the brand, could have made a killing going to goodwood etc especially as ollie gavin was a rep ,met him down there once, condiering the C8 Z06 is the most dominant car in gt racing,i never had a problem with workshop but showroom staff were very ignorant and didnt help ssangyongs being in the middle of $100k cars

I could do without a day trip to Stockport for a basic service. Such a shame as Ian Allen are round the corner from me. I guess I'll have to try my luck for the MOT for my 2018 GS at the local garage, and maybe servicing too (it just seems to be oil and filter change in reality...), then maybe go north every other year for a 'proper service'.

If anyone finds someone knowledgable with C7s in the southern half of the country please let me know...

As above, Ian Goss in Surbiton Surrey is the man to go to, from far and wide, even more so with Ian Allen closing up.

Is the closing down of Ian Allen to do with them or lack of interest from GM in selling rhd cars in the UK ,namely the C8 ,

Was originally on the search for a Z06 ,either a C6 or C7 but got caught up in the many LZ1 video's calling them a track weapon

especially the video that was going for the Nurbergring lap record and being only few seconds behind the latest Porsche GT2 RS

after 13 miles which would be a achievement for any super car let alone a yank ,

Been told that there are only 8 in the country but not sure if that's true or not,

Does anyone have any thoughts on changing the supercharger pulley to increase the bhp ,

Is it worth me going there or perhaps recommend someone capable of doing such a job.
