The official USAF statement was comically written, I guess it was 'bring your child to work day' at the base....and some 15 year old wrote this....

"An aircraft incident occurred this afternoon resulting in significant aircraft damage"

Reminds me of an little story about italian Carabinieri:

Anyway the above is quite an understatement, they should have added "it'll eventually buff out" biggrin

The pilot experienced an “inflight malfunction” and had declared an inflight emergency prior to the crash
