Cholesterol friendly foods/snacks
Discussion
Not sure is this is in the right forum subsection but I’ve recently discovered that my LDL cholesterol is a bit high.
I eat a bit of red meat, not too much I don’t think. Also air fryed breaded chicken etc and also prob too much cheese.
I’ve quite a quick metabolism so get hungry and need snacks!!
Reason for the thread is to get ideas on what others eat and snack on which may help.
I’ll kick off with Nairns chocolate oat biscuits. They’re really tasty!
I’ve also just found the low fat Cathedral City cheese, not sure how beneficial this is though.
Any other simple, tasty and not unhealthy supermarket gems?

Hummus is good, probably more so the low fat variety. I dip it with the Nairn crackers (the one in the green box are the lowest cholesterol) or carrots.
Soreen is low in cholesterol as are fruited tea-cakes ( try Warburton's, they don't have the sticky sugar glaze on them).
The Heart UK is a good resource of information and there's plenty of recipes and good food stuffs in their Healthy Living section

Home made hummus and you can control how much olive oil goes in. Loads of variants (add dukkah as a topping, etc) with some breadsticks to dip.
Same for white bean dip or muhammara (walnut dip)
Make a few small portions and stick them in the fridge. When hungry in the day I make a "snack tray" with a bit of each, some breadsticks and some fruit and can graze for a few hours (rather than sitting down and eating it all)

Crispy roasted chick peas. Experiment with seasonings:
