Have a R56 MCS and the heater/AC panel is fully functioning but looking tired and worn, is it possible to swap the IHKS panel for the optional IHKA ?

Is it an easy straight swap or more involved than just changing one unit for the other? If it's a major PITA then I'll just source a used replacement IHKS that's in better condition than mine.

Others may know better, but thinking about the R53 it was not possible, so perhaps the same.

You could try getting in touch with an electronics/bmw/mini specialist who has autologic or other such programming gear as if it is possible it will 99% certainly need to be programmed/coded to the car and they may know.

Thanks E-BMW, had a look and a US Mini forum basically said the same that panel swap requires some software coding tweaks, given the panel also contains the toggle switches for door locks, electric windows, fog/driving lights - it's not a straight swap and can be glitchy according to the peeps that have done it.

So keeping mine original and will just source a std IHKS.
