F1 sim racing championship

Anyone else watching it?

Came across it by accident on Youtube the other day and got sucked in a bit.

Seems all the cars are pretty much the same performance wise (assume setup can be played with a fair bit). Just watching a replay of the 4th race from this year's first event.

I've been watching it on and off for a couple of years. This year seems to be the worst yet due to changed game physics - the races are just dull processions as the DRS is just too OP, then they turn into a Mario Kart style free for all in the last few corners. The commentators do their best to talk a good race, but Alex Jacques screaming things like "What. A. Divebomb" almost every time a DRS-assisted overtake is attempted wears thin very quickly.

Thankfully there are a couple of more charismatic younger drivers taking part this year; watching some enthusiastic young female reporter attempting to interview the likes of the "older" drivers like Frederik Rasmussen is toe-curlingly embarrassing.

If anyone watched today's live qualifying then you probably saw Bari Broumand dropping the f-bomb in the post qualifying interview with Clair Cottingham. Most amusing. Ariana, Alex and Matt could barely hold the laughter in

Blimey. Just watched round 12 live, Thomas Ronhaar really is a dirty racer *and* a bad loser. Driving into your oppo four laps from the finish? Not a good look. Jarno Opmeer a worthy champ
