It's from a Bolex cine projector circ 1950/60's, also used on other projectors from that era. Probabley German/Swiss origins. I need a spare and can't find one.

Tricky, as you haven't shown the pins at all!

Maybe one of these would help?

Is that a female connector on the device? That's... interesting, from a safety perspective!

No, that's the bit that plugs into the projector.

Yes that's the one but I want to know the plug type? Ideally I want to make up a lead myself

There's a code on the plug in that photo KA-0064 but googling it only throws up the Van Eyk part.

My guess (based on the look of the plug, the code, and the price!) is that it's a custom plug replacement they've designed/manufactured themselves.

Can you modify the projector internals to replace the socket, or wire a mains lead in directly?

Possibly, but would rather keep it original if possible. There must be some available somewhere, even old stock, if I can find out what it is called.

Given that this thread refers to having the Van Eck one fabricated I'd say you've got zero chance of finding any NOS connectors.

https://8mmforum.film-tech.com/vbb/forum/8mm-forum...

This might fit but isn't NOS:

Curious, that KA-0064 marking only seems to show up on that specific site so per above I wonder if it’s bespoke to them.

It’s not dissimilar to an IEC C9 or C11 socket but neither of those carry a ground.

Yes that's the one, I even looked at that site but couldn't find it. Good spot! However....no model numbers etc on that site, still drawing a blank on finding any.

I've got closer, looks like a C9 may work, but is missing the ground.

That's all I could find as well, various sites note these plugs as OEM for Revox kit but searching for Revox cables just brings up the 2 pin C9 versions.

Well you could run it unearthed through an isolating transformer but that's getting a bit of a faff.
