Well we have been well and truly outplayed by the Aussie Women. 3-0 down. They are a really powerful side and this time their lower order came through. Gardner has had a good series with both bat and ball. Plenty of starts for us but no one went on.

And so the pain continues, well beaten again this time in the T20. Australia Women and Men seem to be pretty unbeatable at the moment.

Didn't see any of it but I heard in the news report that England lost 22 wickets already to spin in the series so far! yikes

I go back to my point last year that if the men are serious about winning the Ashes, we'll need a wiley, battle-hardened spinner. Not Shoaib Bashir, not Rehan Ahmed and definitely not 1-dimensional Leech. I'd start wooing Adil Rashid now and ask him to consider coming back for a one-off Test series. Take one or two of Bashir and/or Ahmed as back-up and for experience - but those two are nowhere near the quality needed to take on the quality of the Aussies on home turf as 1st choice. Way too wet behind the ears. Only concern is that I don't think Rashid has played much 5 day cricket in a while and whether he still has the stamina for it; so would need one of the youngsters to play in tandem.

Probably across the 4 games yes. I don’t see Rashid coming back basically because he doesn’t want to. They are committed to Basihir so he stays and they will give him as many games as possible. We don’t have any strong experienced spinners unfortunately. The wickets in Australia seem to be taking more seam as well rather than just flat out pace, although that will come in handy too.

Two quick wickets from Archer but I fear the writing's already on the wall.

132 was never enough. At least 40 under par.

Yep, looks like we were 50+ Runs short of a decent total. There were no gremlins in the pitch, the ball swung for the first 2 Overs.

Livingstone's dismissal will give him nightmares. He's so keen to prove he can hit the ball through the Offside that he took a good step back and then couldn't reach a straight one, 2nd ball faced and lots of questions raised.

Bethel looked a bit lost. Early days for him though.

Lots of pre-match talk about how our bowlers are capable batsmen. The reality is with quality bowling they are batting at 8.9.10.J for a reason, expecting them to make up for the top order failures is akin to expecting Duckett to bowl 3 Overs for 10 and snag a wicket.biggrin

Nice to see a bit of cricket though. 5 T20 series, next game is on Saturday, same start time 1:30pm

True, you have to post a score. Only Jos with 68 out of 132 did anything, that simply won’t work. The next highest score was 17. Pretty obvious where we lost this.

I do get fed up by being beaten by the Aussies over there. They are relentless. Probably because they are just…. better than we are ;(
