Hello,Aston Martin owners!
I'm looking forward to buy DB12 Volante, but I didn't find info about does it have auto-hold brakes feature or not. It's when you stop pushing brakes on red traffic lights and car just stand still, not moving anywhere.and to drive forward you need to press acceleration. Can you pls tell me does it have this feature or not? I only found the hill-assist feature, but that's not the same
P.S. sorry for my English, I'm not native speaker

It sounds like an electronic handbrake.

Not exactly. In many cars electronic handbrake marked like (P) icon, and auto-hold marked like (A) icon

Exactly. An electronic handbrake (or park brake) is one where you press a button/lift a toggle to apply the handbrake, rather than work up a sweat (heaven forfend!) hauling on a lever with a ratchet in the cabin that actually pulls steel cables to apply brakes.

Auto-hold, however, uses an electronic handbrake which operates in the normal manner, but with the additional feature that if the car detects it has come to a halt, it automatically applies the handbrake without any action from the driver. The handbrake automatically releases in the same way as the electronic handbrake does normally - as soon as the driver touches the accelerator.

My V60 CC auto daily has auto-hold. I disable it (easy to do) as I quite like letting the auto "creep" in slow traffic without having to touch the throttle.

Ah right, so an electronic handbrake that works on stop as well as start. Seems maybe one tech too much, but I haven't tried one.

Are you referring to the system that works like the Mercedes auto's ... in other words, you press the brake pedal to slow, once stopped you push the brake pedal further which gives you the 'hold' signal on the dash and it works as though you have applied the handbrake, holding the car until the accelerator pedal is pressed?

No, it’s not a EPB, the car just holds the brakes when you press the peddle past a certain point at the lights/ junctions etc, it keeps the brake lights on, and then when you press the accelerator it releases the brakes and you move off

OP- I googled it, the DB12 doesn’t have it

Yes thats what I thought the OP meant also. Its a very good system and works very well on my GLC. I would have thought some good ideas from Mercedes would have carried over to AM on their newest models.

AVH - Auto Vehicle Hold, is standard on all current model lines.

It works exactly as the Mercedes system, where you stop and then push the pedal further to switch on.
"HOLD" should appear on the dash when active.

It can be disabled by repressing the brake pedal, over the setting pressure, or by pressing the throttle pedal.

Did I understand you correctly - Aston Martin DOES contain this feature?

DB12, Vantage, Vanquish and DBX707 all have this feature.

Excellent ... I thought it odd this feature wasn't being used given its on all modern Mercs.

Happily this works like any modern Mercedes. Also other things (like instrument panel and steering wheel pads) work almost the same as in 2022 Mercedes cars.
