Just how bad (in a good way) can this be?

Karren SourMcSourface looks set to return. Plus there will be another series in 2026 if anyone here fancies applying

Yeah, it converted from a competition among mostly competent people that were worth (iirc) a £100kpa job, it's morphed into a parade of imbeciles with 1 or 2 contenders in the mix, that Sugar wants as far away from his core business as possible. I'll probably still watch it though.
I had a nose at the bios earlier and this one stood out, for no other reason that she acknowledges it is a competition and there are other people involved - everyone else goes for the standard tosspot approach of "I'm awesome and Sugar's a fool if I don't win."

This started out as an interesting and entertaining show but has morphed into nothing more than a game show. Very little of the content bares any resemblance to the realities of business.
A few years back, a company I use (large format and vinyl printing) was featured in one of the episodes. I say 'featured'.....
The idea was that both teams needed to prepare some publicity materials for something they were organising and were dispatched to this company to design and make these banners. Off camera, my friend had set up some 'unfinished' designs and showed them how to finish them off and how to use the machines that printed everything out so that on camera, it appeared as if they were expert graphic designers and printers. Despite being neither, they actually made a pretty good job of it and seemed to get on well with one another. This obviously wouldn't have made good telly so the Producer asked them to repeat the process and contrived arguments, asked my friend to load the paper incorrectly and other 'adjustments' necessary to introduce drama.
The company received no fee (only the cost of the consumables) but were permitted to use their involvement in their publicity post airing. This my friend did, appearing on local radio the morning of the show and the like. When the show aired, it was exactly like when Mick was on the News in Gavin and Stacey.... "is that it?" They were there an entire day and the sum total of what was aired were two on them at a Mac designing and one shown trying to figure out the printing machine.

Candidates are all there, look a boring bunch to be honest.

I loved it when it came out. Applied myself many many years ago. I really liked the programme. I have not watched the past few years. It's utterly repetitive. Not in a good way like Beer or Cake.
You wouldnt have been the first PH'er to apply or indeed start.Series 2 had Tuan Le, who was a pistonheader and documented some of his experiences in a thread on 'the apprentice' in 2006
wonder what became of him? - he didn't win

I’m surprised they haven’t started box ticking yet by including candidates with special needs, disabled, neurodiverse passports etc.
The selection process seem to concentrate on the hotness of the female contestants, I doubt the plain chubby lassies get pointed to the door marked EXIT. What a shame this programme shifted focus. The contestants in the earlier series, at least a few, seemed genuinely engaged and in some cases, quite talented.
Latterly, they mostly appear hungry for fame,
Always with the same type of business. The tasks rarely change and it all feels totally contrived. Which it apparently is. For the first time since it started, we won’t bother this year.

I love watching The Apprentice. The whole time I hate the show but just can't look away, and it becomes a bit of a cheap form of entertainment. However, seeing the contestents this time just makes me hate them all before it even starts.
There really is a theme to the show now on who they choose. Women looking b
hy and putting on a power pose, the guys in cheap fitting suits and designer beards, plus the classic "I'm just like Lord Sugar" character *yawn*
