Looking for some help here please. I’m probably doing something stoopid but I am completely baffled by the situation so hoping somebody can provide me with some advice.
Last month I decided to replace the current front indicators with some LED units to improve visibility to other road users when I’m turning or overtaking.
I removed the old bulbs and holders and replaced with LED units available for Land Rovers. At the same time, I purchased a new indicator relay with the in-built resistors and diodes for the change to LED bulbs.
Everything installed OK, hazard warning lights work fine but indicators are dead (with ignition on). I had a quick read on various forums and there were a lot of comments questioning the reliability of the hazard warning switch and so I replaced that as well. I have also purchased another indicator relay and fitted it but indicators still don’t work.
The hazards are working with no indicator relay fitted - is that correct or am I trying to change the wrong relay? What generates the clicking noise when the hazards are working - does it come from the indicator relay or is it generated from something else? Have I just been really unlucky and bought two duff led relays? As I said, any help appreciated.

When I did mine they didn't work. And I traced it to the wiring to the relay coil.. As the new relay had electronics in it ,It was voltage direction dependent. The Live and earth were the wrong way tound. I swapped the Live and earth round in the relay holder and it worked fine. Might be work checking.

Quick check with the multimeter this afternoon and live and earth are the wrong way round!!! Thanks for the heads up. The car is factory built and I wasn’t confident this is the issue but looks like this is the case.
Was it an easy enough job to get into the back of the relay holder and swap over the connections?
Thanks again, Jim

Yeah there's a small tab holds the terminal in the plug. Glasses screw driver slid down to unlatch it.
