I'm thinking of a quick winter fix with a trip to Retromobile next month.

Anyone been? would be interested in any observations, do's/don't etc?

Not been for a number of years but really enjoyed the event when we did go several times. Very French which is not surprising !! Certainly the catering on offer was a big improvement on the NEC.

This will be my 3rd or 4th time going. I've always enjoyed just wandering around seeing things you wouldn't normally see at a UK car show. As 66Elan says its very French. All the big manufacturers bring some of their heritage fleets, along with a lot of big European specialist dealers. Tickets are a lot more reasonable too compared to NEC.

I'm bringing Whitlock Snr with me this year. He's been saying how much he is looking forward to it for months biggrin

All confirmed now and looking forward to it.

Mrs Ettore also happy to join despite her long term ambivalence to motoring matters - benefit of Paris!

This is very interesting so I think I will organise a trip.

Do you need to book tickets in advance or can you just turn up and pay entry on the door like the NEC?

You can buy tickets on the door, but its cheaper to buy online & they are valid for any day

Excellent thanks I've booked my train tickets and my hotel and my friend in Paris says he will sort the tickets for the event itself.

Looking forward to it

….and it was excellent. 5 Bugatti 59’s alone justified the trip, plus a wonderful long lunch today, prior to an excellent game of rugby.

I’ll be back!

Good to hear you enjoyed it. Was a great show this year. You know there's a great selection of cars when you walk past 'another' F40!

Just need to convince my wife that we need to go the new show in New York next year

Thread resurrection, any advice on accommodation? Ideally somewhere with a few bar / restaurant options locally?
TIA

Hi there,

We stayed a bit far from the event this year as wanted to do some of the touristy stuff. Hotel was ok but nothing exciting. Just started my planning for the 2026 event and will be aiming to stay much near the exhibition centre. We tended to just use the hotel as a place to lay our head (I went with my son) and ate at small local restaurants and bars.

Let me know if you find any where decent.

If you want to get a feel for the event please check out the galleries on my site

The exhibition centre is on Metro route 12, so its only about 20 minutes from the centre of Paris. I normally stop in the centre & then travel out & back

Thanks, I wondered if that was viable, I’ve stayed in the Bastille area before which had lots of bar / restaurant options so will take another look at that
