My Perf is going for a service shortly and I have been reading about a few people in the USA saying their cars’ software was reflashed by the dealers for an “Emissions Recall” which removes/reduces the pops/crackles etc. It was done without their knowledge/consent.

Hopefully just a USA thing - anyone heard about this or had any experience of this on UK/Europe? They did something similar on 458s a while back IIRC.

There have been a number of such instances on R8's in the UK so would proceed with caution

I thought they did similar with McLaren's too a few years back.

I think Jaguar also did similar on the V8 F types.

Maybe the recall is only for the U.S market?
