G30 - fitting a short front numberplate…
Discussion
Has anyone fitted a short front plate to a G30? I have a 5-digit plate which can legally be a fair bit shorter than the massive 7-digit plate it came with but the bumper is concave in that area so adhesive strips probably won’t work. As standard the plate sits on a large black plastic surround, and I’m wondering if anyone has found a solution?
Thanks

The problem you will have is removing the plate holder will likely leave a load of holes visible.
A company called four dot (and probably others) can create you a plate where the letter area can be the right size for your plate but the rest is then black so it can be fitted to plate holders without all of their holes/unsightlyness showing.

Cheers. How did you mount it (assuming it’s on a G30)?
If your car has the license plate holder then remove that and use double sided sticky pads to attach the new plate. If you have screw holes remaining and visable on each end then smart repair would be required or bodyshop to sort it out.https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0BNNYB3VW
Got round to fitting the plate today after the smart repair. Decided to use the angled foam pads from Amazon as they seemed to fit with the curved bumper. I put the plate on a radiator for a while to soften it so I could introduce a slight bend in it to match the bumper. All worked out perfectly. Hope this is useful to someone else one day and thanks to everyone for their input
