M135i - what booklets/documents supplied at sale

Hi all. Looking at my first potential step back into BMW ownership after a few years. And first of the F series.

Doing my due diligence and wanted to check what wallet and manuals should have been supplied by BMW when the car was new. I'm aware there is no service book any longer. Also does any of the original documentation show the vin and pdi beong done as i think it used to be recorded on the old E series cars.

This is for an F20/21. Probably looking around 2013/2014 cars.

My 2016 F30 335d came with a physical handbook. Sadly it was in a plastic case, but I had kept my old E36’s rather sumptuous leather wallet. However, register on line with your VIN and you will get an online handbook tailored to your car, complete with all the conveniences of a search ability, and, in some cases, videos. You can also get My BMW which is an app, whereby you can check the car from a suitable device for locked, windows open, future service predictions, fuel level, location, etc. I cannot say for certain that applies to earlier models

This is what I got with my Sep 2014 M135i, all of it generic, no VIN recorded.

I bought a blank BMW service book via EBay to record VIN/services as well as keeping a log and receipts (I do all service work on the car).

That's brilliant thank you. It looks as though the navigation/infotainment manual changed at some point around 2014. There are two different style front cover. Being super pedantic anyone know what build date this would have changed from

As said, download the on-line handbook using the VIN to get a relevant handbook, it will get updates too, if needed.

Thanks for the replies and I'll get onto the online books.

To answer my own question, it looks as though the nav book updated from March 2015 onwards build dates.
