Help For A New Biker Please
Discussion
Here goes as I’m not clued up on bikes at all, so forgive me for any errors!
My cousins work colleague has a 14yr old daughter who is utterly obsessed with bikes, road bikes.
She’s not really into off road or track at all. The obsession really is genuine and he’s at the stage where both of them would like to let her at least try it but don’t seem to have found anywhere.
There are loads of car licence days out for as young as 10, loads of off road bikes for as low as 4yrs old, even track superbike racing days but nothing for road motorbikes.
So I wondered if anyone on here knew of such a place, just the chance to try out and get used to motorbikes, maybe a coned layout and different styles etc like you would expect on one of those car days.
He was expecting a full day out on a weekend, the usual 9am bacon butty start etc but no luck. He lives between Manchester, Liverpool and Preston if it helps but I think he may travel further if needed.
I might not be looking in the right places and he’s had no luck either so I thought I’d throw it out to the experts please………

Honda offer ride free sessions at large shows and via dealer road shows. We have hosted one and I was very impressed. Professionally run, nearly new bikes and all kit and insurance provided. All completed off road, obviously, and with a view to selling training and bikes but a great way to try out a bike.

I’m clueless when it comes to bikes, she has indeed been out on some off road bikes through a friend of hers at school.
She really wants to get a feel for them, and this seems the best way.
She’s really into road bikes and cannot wait for her opportunity.
To give you a little insight into how bad it is with her ( in a good way! ) I’ve had her on the car with me and where as most 14yr olds will simply plug themselves in and away, she will do that but leave an ear free and as soon as a bike engine can be heard her head pops up and she’s watching.
All I will take credit for is her love of Ducati. As a lover and very fortunate owner of old Italian cars I’d like to think she takes Ducati first as a result of me!!
Honesty, I think if you sat me down with a healthy glass of good brandy and an idling Ducati I might be in a happy place.

Move to a council estate and let her hang around with Sports Direct tracksuited chavs.
Within a couple of weeks she'll be grinding locks off like a goodun and hoisting mingers up and down the high street.
Easy, innit.
