Small electric fan heater in bathroom, have had one before in a rental and for a cheap little thing they are effective

New flat, switch in bathroom, not outside, pull cord and it lasts about 10 seconds before dying and won't start again.

Idea?, landlord is bring a bit skack about doing much.

Is the intake blocked and as such it's thermal shutoff is kicking in due to lack of airflow?

Oh dear did not realise the typo in the heading

The intake is fine, no dust or mess, I did notice a small spark earlier when it turned off, think it might be an electric fault sadly.

Dimplex, I guess.

If it sparks when it turns off, probably a rudimentary bimetallic strip thermostat, does the air actually feel hot?

May be full of dust and crap but you can only really clean it out properly by removing it and taking it apart.

The air is very hot yes, the switch and fuse are mounted right next to it, presume it is wired directly, annoyingly the rad in the room does not work either so bloody cold, only thing that does work is the extractor fan of course! Oddly that is switched outside the room!
