Anyhow, after seeing some of the comments regarding metric beers on the other thread, I thought I'd share with you some of the stuff on saw on daytime tv t'other day.

It's essentially the forum for ARM, who are trying to convert everything back into Imperial measurements! I personally believe we should slowly be converting to metric (it makes sense when you're an engineer), but other people think not.

when in the Deli section of Sainsburys I always ask for a "Pound" or a "Quarter" etc as Grammes and Killograms mean nowt to me I was brought up with Imperial Weights and Measures and cannot get the Grammes thing at all and probably never will!, I mean I KNOW how many Sausages to the Pound (8)

When my missus sends me to the shop to buy milk, she asks me to "buy a big pint" - she means a litre!
One advantage of metric, is that a litre of petrol is 99.9p, whereas a gallon of petrol is about £4. Therefore a metric unti of petrol is far cheaper than an imperial unit of petrol!
