My son has a 2019 G20 330e, and is experiencing jerky 1st - 2nd and 2nd - 3rd gear changes.

Has anyone had any success with “resetting” the gearbox with the method below:-

1. Press START button with foot off the pedals.
2. Press accelerator pedal for 30 seconds and then release.
3. Press brake pedal and start engine.

TIA

What’s the mileage it’s on? Could be due a zf gearbox oil change

Thanks for your response.

I think it's around 45K. ZF recommend an oil change at 60K don't they?

My 335d was a bit sluggish on gear changes. I had a long trip planned. For the return journey I filled a full tank worth of BP Ultimate diesel. After that and a long run, it perked the engine up and the ZF8 was back to normal (at60k miles. For the car mentioned, a tankful of top grade fuel may sort a few things out, which may be worth it before anything else.

Yeah doesn’t need doing yet.

Disconnecting battery for 30 minutes will reset the learnt values as well. Full on adaption via software only needed if changing mechanical parts.

Bearing in mind it's a 330e, will just disconnecting the 12v battery do the trick? I'm not sure how he'd disconnect the 48v battery.
