7/7 The London Bombings
Discussion
I have just finished watching this and have to say what an amazing programme.
It showed that all the emergency services that attended did so without a thought for themselves , going into situations not knowing if there was another device primed to go off.
It also showed the investigation and how the bombers were tracked , followed and eventually caught and arrested.
As for the detectives and other staff they should be commended for their work and they should be applauded for what they had to cope with , It must have been horrific and I hope they all got trauma counselling and help with their mental wellbeing after this .

It got a mention on this thread.

It might be worth getting a moderator to move this thread into the TV section.

Such a serious subject, and it felt so trivialised.
I appreciate your opinion but I really didn’t get that sense at all, and I have form for giving up on documentaries that are badly done/annoying; in this case I thought it was excellent and watched all four episodes over two nights.I thought it was quite well done too.
What I did find quite interesting after watching the recent documentary on the Charles De Menzes shooting on Ch4 or Ch5, can't remember which, is what Sir Ian Blair was saying seemed to be a different interpretation and that Cressida Dick didn't make an appearance and explain her role over the period.

It was done in a very BBC way and needed to be, I didn't "enjoy" it but I found it to be a good watch.
I need a follow-up by the same team now to cover "what happened next and where we are today when it comes to detecting people like this the moment they start hitting Google to search for stuff.

I felt it was exceptionally well crafted and produced, there is little narration from the producers, letting those involved tell (no doubt under direction) their story, it’s brought together in cohesive manner.
As with all these types of progammes, to say you ‘enjoyed’ it sounds wrong, I do feel in displayed human decency of those involved in the aftermath which is nice to see.
There are some unexpected insights from those tasked with recovery of the deceased, the police as well as politicians.

Agreed, a very impressive bit of work. Compelling and enhanced by lack of adverts. As with all these types of progammes, to say you ‘enjoyed’ it sounds wrong, I do feel in displayed human decency of those involved in the aftermath which is nice to see.
